Most pizza styles are easily accessible in Manchester these days, Neapolitan, New York… you name it, we’ve got it. Now, a new Detroit style pizza shack is set to open in Circle Square on Oxford Road giving away 10,000 free pizzas.
Detroit Slims from the same team behind Ramona, Diecast and The Firehouse will open this autumn. “A game changing” approach to pizza is promised with 10-inch-long rectangular slices instead of the normal circular or square approach. Prices will start from just £5 per slice and will be baked to order. Toppings include Cheeseburger Slim, BBQ Meat Feast, Shroom Slim and the Pepperoni Crown. Each pizza will be made using a signature light and fluffy textured base that will come from a special 48-hour, slow-fermented dough.
House-made dips are also available to compliment the pizzas and sides including Kimchi Mayo, Hot Honey and Dill + Jalapeño Ranch. Popular Detroit sides include chicken tenders tossed in homemade Cajun pepper and crispy scooper fries which complement the dips.
The drinks menu includes milkshakes such as banoffee pie and Detroit style “bumpy cake” which is a butterscotch cake with vanilla and chocolate. And deserts include ice cream sandwiches, cookie trays and soft-serve ice creams.
To celebrate the opening Detroit Slims is giving away 10,000 free pizzas to the first people to sign up on the Detroit Slims newsletter. The restaurant will be close to Federal Cafe, North Tap Room and Onda Pasta bar which are all located in Circle Square.
