The Manchester Christmas Markets are back with a bang, just awarded best Christmas markets in the UK. This year we’ve been treated to some of city’s best restaurants taking up food stalls providing everything from Yorkshire pudding wraps and Dutch pancakes to festive fried chicken, and with so much on offer, we’ve picked out our favourites we’re sure you’ll love.
The Flat Baker is one of the huge success stories coming out of Manchester in 2023, offering some of the best pastries and sweet treats in town. It has taken its success to another level by posting up in Piccadilly Gardens during the Manchester Christmas Markets. It’s serving up Brazilian mince pies, cinnamon rolls and brownies, but the real showstopper is the Croissant with a warm sauce of choice. By far one of the best things you can get at this year’s Manchester Christmas Markets.
Northern Quarter favourite Yard and Coop is back again this year serving trays of chicken and chips. The whole menu looks amazing, and definitely worth a visit but our pick of the lot is chicken and chips in an ice cream cone.
The Manchester Christmas Markets aren’t quite the same without indulging in the sweet treats on offer. De Creperie is based in Piccadilly Gardens, serving up the best mini dutch pancakes and sugar waffles with a huge range in sauces for just a fiver, you can’t say much better than that!
Another stall that has had a successful 2023 is Oi Dumplings, having featured on TV and winning the Northern heat at the British Street Food awards. It’s another stall which is situated at Piccadilly Gardens, making that end of the markets a triple threat.
Our final recommendation is Parmogeddon who have been selling their legendary parmos since 2019 and have now popped up on New Cathedral Street. Coming armed with a new line-up of Christmas themed items, this one is a must visit. Our picks include the pigs and stuffing butty, Christmas parmo and the loaded roasties.
