Manchester’s transformational new residential building, Union co-living apartments at St John’s, has announced the line-up for its official VIP launch party, and it’s a big one. In-fact it follows suit for the brand, which has already connected with Manchester through regular editorial updates and partnerships.
Now, Union continues its hyper-local launch strategy with an all-out launch event which will be headlined by Manchester royalty Everything Everything. The main stage festival band boast top 10 albums, Mercury prize nominations and their new album ‘Mountainhead’ will be released on 1 March.
Also on the bill, soulful R&B storyteller come pop artist, Murkage Dave who carved out his music career in Manchester, running legendary club night Monday Night Murkage at South. Since then, Murkage Dave’s career as a solo artist has flourished, he’s supported The Streets on tour, worked on projects with the likes of JayKae, Skepta and released his own albums to critical acclaim from the likes of Radio 1, Pharrell Williams, Rolling Stone, Complex and The Guardian.
Multi-genre and multi-dimensional Manchester artist, IAMDDB shot to fame after her track “Shade” became a certified club anthem and travelled the world through Instagram and TikTok, amassing 46M views on YouTube and over 64M streams on Spotify.
Since then, IAMDDB has become a mainstay on the urban scene, playing festivals such as Glastonbury and Wireless, touring with R&B legends Lauryn Hill, Bryson Tiller and Jhene and releasing tracks with Diplo. IAMDDB’s latest project, LOVE is WAR: Volume 6 launches on the same day as the Union launch party (29.02.24) with a tour following later in the year.
Supporting the line-up, legendary Manchester DJ, G2 who has powered parties for the likes of Drake, Spice Girls and Usain Bolt and holds down residencies across the city including regular spots at Twenty Twenty Two and Yours.
Warehouse Project resident Krysko who regularly plays some of the biggest electronic music festivals and club nights around the world will be spinning a selection of the best house music.
And finally, DJ Toni Rarri, who’s synonymous with some of the city’s biggest music events such as Msvon Collective and Habitat completes the DJ line-up.
Continuing the theme of all things Manchester, guests will be treated to food from Picos Tacos, Eat New York and Great North Pies, as well as drinks from Manchester Union Brewery.
Taking place on 29.02.24, residents who’ve already moved into the building will be entered into a randomised prize draw to gain access. They’ll also be the chance for people to win their place at the event via the Union instagram (@UnionMCR) in the run up to the event.

Along with the main launch event, Union has a busy line-up of events running throughout February and March, with collaborations with Funkademia, Heads, Habitat, Manchester Young Professionals and more. Union residents will have the chance to attend the events through the resident’s app and there will also ticket giveaways ran across Union’s Instagram account @UnionMCR.
