BBC Radio 6 Music Festival returns to Manchester this weekend with a great line up of acts that transverse a multitude of genres. There are bands, DJs, singers, and rappers on the bill for what promises to be another brilliant weekend within the city.
There are loads of iconic venues being used for this weekend of tunes, such as the O2 Victoria Warehouse, which plays host to live performances from some big names such as progressive Scottish hip hop trio Young Fathers and Ex-Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke’s The Smile. The iconic Band on the Wall will also be hosting Indie Forever club night on Friday, which will see DJ sets containing all your favourite indie bangers, from people like Lily Fontaine, the singer from Leeds based band English Teacher, and Nathan Shepherd, the man behind Good Future who has taken Tik Tok by storm in the past few months.
The DJing doesn’t stop there, as fans of dance music will be delighted to hear that on Saturday, 6 Music have a Rave Forever stage which is in partnership with The Warehouse Project and is in its Mayfield Depot. Playing host to sets from people such as the acclaimed DJ Seinfeld, DJ Paulette, and duo Not Bad for a Girl, this promises to give ravers their fix of two-stepping for the weekend.
There is also a Morning After Mix stage over at Ramona, which promises to wash away the hangovers with some chilled vibes. Taking place on Saturday and Sunday over the afternoon, people like Jamz Supernova and Cerys Mathews are performing, with DJ sets from Konny Kon of Children of Zeus, and Femi Koleoso of Ezra Collective. The perfect way to re-invigorate yourself for another night of partying over this music-filled weekend in the city.
They are also hosting a BBC Introducing night for new up and coming artists, also hosted at Band on the wall. As well as that, there is a New Music Fix Live which contains several DJ sets from more up-and-comers, taking place at YES.
Radio 6 Music Festival takes place around the city this weekend 7-10 March.
