If you were lucky enough to get tickets for Oasis‘ reunion or want to know more about one of Manchester’s biggest bands that have just reformed, we’ve got you covered. There are loads of places to see in Manchester that are a huge part of the Gallagher brothers’ heritage. Here’s Union’s picks of spots to visit.
177 Fog Ln, M20 6FJ
Referenced in the song Shakermaker, the second single the band ever released, “Mister Sifter sold me songs when I was just sixteen. Now he stops at traffic lights but only when they’re green.” Sifters still exists to this day and is a haven for record collectors and Oasis fans. Apparently, Liam Gallagher was pestering Noel to finish the song and the taxi stopped at the traffic lights outside the shop.
In a recent video interview with John Robb, Noel Gallagher visited the shop and mentioned that “I have to say this shop has not changed a bit. I bought a lot of my records in here, it’s where I discovered my love of ‘best of’ albums.”
Sifters is easy to get to being 2 minutes away from Burnage train station and on the 50 bus route. The music video was also shot in Burton Road around the corner near the Gallaghers’ childhood home. The park they are playing football in is Didsbury Toc H Sports Ground on the same road.

A must for any fans of Oasis, the Microdot store holds loads of rare posters and designs that were made by designer Brian Cannon who created the original Oasis logo and typeface alongside the record sleeves. The shop even holds the fireplace from the Definitely Maybe cover which you can take a photo next to. There’s also items on display from bands such as The Verve, Suede, Cast, Ash and Super Furry Animals that Cannon designed artwork for.
Pretty Green, the clothing brand Liam Gallagher used to own, has a flagship store close by which has plenty of parkas and bucket hats in stock for those lucky enough to get tickets that want to look the part.
The Boardwalk
Little Peter St
Now used as office space, the Boardwalk was where Oasis first rehearsed and in the Supersonic documentary, there is footage of them playing All Around the World which later appeared on the third album Be Here Now. The upstairs was also used as a live music venue where Oasis played their first headline show in 1992. On a bootleg recording of the gig on Youtube, the crowd is so small you can hear someone planning a holiday to Greece.
There’s a plaque outside that commemorates the building and the history behind it. The venue was used by a variety of other acts including The Stone Roses, Sonic Youth, Chumbawamba, Inspiral Carpets, The Verve and Rage Against the Machine. Famous nightclub The Hacienda is also around the corner where Oasis played in 1994 as is the Pevril of the Peak pub where they did an iconic photoshoot.
Etihad Stadium
M11 3FF
Liam and Noel are both diehard Manchester City fans and are often spotted at games here. Oasis played two nights here in 2005 and also notoriously did the same at City’s old ground Maine Road back in 1996. Inside the stadium there are photos up on the walls of the brothers with players and manager Pep Guardiola, Oasis songs are often played before and after City games on the speakers.
More recently, Liam played a solo show there in 2022. If construction and building work weren’t taking place this summer we’d more than likely be seeing some dates here instead of Heaton Park.
