Cult Chorlton Neapolitan pizza institution Double Zero has opened its first restaurant in Manchester city centre. Already famed for winning awards for best pizza in the country, Double Zero has decided to expand its offering with a new restaurant just off Portland St in Spring Gardens.
When it comes to perfecting the craft of Pizza, Double Zero takes its sweat time, the dough is made on-site daily using only four ingredients, flour, water, salt and yeast, and fermented for a minimum of 48 hours. The pizzas are then stretched by hand, topped with authentic Italian ingredients and cooked for less than 90 seconds at 450c in a wood-fired oven all the way from Naples, the home of pizza.
Classics such as Napoli and Pinna Rossa are on the menu, Double Zero is also of the only restaurants in the city centre that does gluten free garlic bread and pizza. Prices for pizza start at £9 and a calzone will set you back just under £14.
There will also be a bar serving the likes of espresso martinis, negronis and limoncello mojitos, with a wine menu that has Italian and European options.
One of the most anticipated openings this year is sure not to disappoint. Head down to Double Zero now and see what all the fuss is about.
