As we head into August and the biggest festival month of the year, there has been a mass release of bangers that you will be playing main stage’s across the country. We have picked out our top five tracks, with an eclectic mix of grime, hip hop and house to power your playlists and prepare you for those muddy fields.

First up we have Calvin Harris and Sam Smith with Desire. Which features Smith’s distinctively recognisable vocals over a bouncing techno beat, it’s giving noughties Wigan Pier vibes, which is unexpected from Harris. It’s made us delve into the archives for a compilation CD, so for that reason alone it’s on the list.

Next up with have someone who put Manchester’s grime scene on the map, Bugzy Malone has collab’d with Arrdee on a song called One Direction. A high energy tune that you can expect to be blasted at house parties all summer long. The beat gives us real Wiley and Kano vibes – check it out.

Time for a freestyle, Central Cee and … Drake have teamed up for a freestyle for On The Radar, it’s an easy listener with both artists flowing seamlessly.

If you’re off on holiday this month, you’re going to want to take this one with you. Snakehips and Muni Long have released My Body // Your Body, this one is perfect for a pool party or to have blasting out on your balcony speakers at pre-drinks before heading onto the strip.

Without a doubt the most random duo to probably ever release a song, with neither of them actually having music as their notable career. Idris Elba has partnered with Djibril Cissé, yep, that’s right, ex-Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé. Most Wanted is a hard-hitting house tune with distorted lyrics that will definitely bring the vibes for a party.
