Blue Monday takes place this coming Monday, typically the gloomiest day of the year, but luckily for you we have rounded up must-listen-to tracks released this week so you can go into the new week happy after a weekend of discovering your new favourite music.

First up is Ariana Grande with her new record ‘Yes, and?’. It’s a high energy pop tune, and if this one can’t put you into a good mood for the weekend we don’t know what will.

The Vaccines are one of those bands that everyone needs to see at least once in their lives, and you’re in luck as they’re playing at Manchester Academy in a few weeks. In preparation, make sure you give their new tune Discount De Kooning a listen, it’s a banger.

One thing we didn’t have on our 2024 bingo card was a track by Rudimental and Ella Henderson over the beat of Gangsta’s Paradise, but here we are seeing it in the second week of January. As strange as it may sound, it actually works really well. Definitely worth a listen ahead of Blue Monday.

One performance we are still talking about from 2023 is Loyle Carner’s 6 Music Festival at Victoria Warehouse, and the London-based rapper is back in 2024 with a new release. Made with Unknown T the record is called Hocus Pocus, and its one we will have on repeat all weekend long.

Finally, ending this week’s releases with a high energy house release by Gorgon City. Biggest Regret, featuring BbyAfricka, is a must have tune for your pre-drinks list before hitting town this weekend.
