Stormzy featured in this week's latest music releases

Manchester has a big weekend ahead as the Manchester derby returns for the Community Shield and provides Gary Neville the opportunity to regain some credibility as TV pundit after embarrassing himself at Kendal Calling and losing the festival’s last shred appeal. With reports of sunshine, whether you’re sitting in a park soaking up some sun or watching City v United in a beer garden, here are this week’s latest music to blast out.

Coming in with some energy to start the weekend off, Stormzy has teamed up with Chase N’ Status to release Backbone. A hard-hitting bassline with Stormzy’s flawless cadence. What’s not to love.

Fontaine’s D.C. have gained quite the following and it’s easy to see why. Ahead of their consecutive US, European and UK tours they have released Here’s The Thing and fans won’t be disappointed. If you fancy catching them during the tour they’re playing next door to Union at Aviva Studios for three dates starting 29 November.

The first Americans to make the list this week are Chlöe and Anderson Paak. Their new record is called favorite. This upbeat track is bound to put you in a good mood so make sure you get it blasted out this weekend.

A euphoric dance track for those of you partying this weekend. Jayda G is here with her first official release of the year with Feeling Alive. Definitely one to add to your feel-good playlist.

Finally, something we didn’t have on our bingo card this year is Katy Perry releasing a dance track. Her new song is called Lifetimes and is well worth a spin.
