The latest bar to arrive in Manchester, and more specifically the Northern Quarter has a rather unique name, Mean Eyed Cat, a new Deep-South themed dive bar that has opened up on Oldham Street.
Not only has Mean Eyed Cat opened, but its sister restaurant, Tiki Hideaway will be tucked away in the basement where the high-end Japanese restaurant District previously resided. Upstairs you’ll find floor to ceiling neon signs, bourbon, and beers, whilst downstairs it has wall-to-wall bamboo, straw reaves and cocktails.
Mean Eyed Cat must have some of the best offers in Manchester, but only for those with a lucky streak. By this we mean their iconic roll a dice game. Roll a dice, hit a two or four and get 25% off your bill. Hit a six and the entire bill will be on the house.
The offers don’t stop there, every drink you purchase between 5pm – 9pm comes with a free pizza. They really know how to get punters through the door, and we’re fully on board.
The Mean Eyed Cat food menu is short and sweet. Pizza. Only Pizza. Maybe order before you have a few drinks as you may think you’re ordering a hot dog, cheeseburger, chipotle fajita or some pulled pork, but these are just the pizza flavours. Not a classic margherita in sight.
This is Mean Eyed Cats third bar, with the other two residing in Liverpool and Leeds. They have a reputation for offering good party vibes, so why not head down for a swift pint and check it out.
On a separate note, anyone know how to roll consistent sixes on a dice? Asking for a mate x
