The museum phenomenon known across the world, The Museum of Illusions, is coming to Manchester and marks the first one in the country.
What first started as a one-off gallery in Croatia back in 2015, has become the largest and quickest growing museum trend. As of last year, the museums racked up over 15 million visitors across the 50 worldwide destinations.
The exhibition, which became popular thanks to social media platform, TikTok, has already managed to spread to all corners of the globe from Nashville to Nairobi and Shanghai to Stuttgart. Now, the chain is set to open at the end of this month, at the former Sports Direct location on Market Street.
Described by creators as “edutainment”, the new cultural addition will host an array of interactive experiences, such as the Vortex Tunnel, an Infinity Room and a Reversed Room – inspired by the Manchester’s Metrolink.
According to General Manager, Steven Buchan, the city was chosen due “it’s vibrant cultural scene, rich history, and reputation as a hub for innovation and creativity”.
There will be never seen before “mind altering” displays, exclusive to their new Manchester site.
The Museum of Illusions will be opening its doors on Friday 27 September, and although walk in will be available for a slightly higher fee, visitors are encouraged to book online in advance.
Ticket prices for the Museum of Illusions start from just £17.50 and are available here.
