New music ahead of Pride weekend

Manchester pride and the bank holiday will have the city buzzing this weekend, but before you head out on the town, you’re going to need some new music to get you in the mood.

Starting with Sabrina Carpenter who brought out a well-produced, melodic pop record with her new track Taste. The track is off her latest album Short n’ Sweet which was released today and will undoubtably help to get Sabrina some radio airtime and streams. Give Taste a listen and we’re sure you’ll go straight to binging the whole album.

Next up we have a Chris Martin’s latest attempt to stay relevant ‘We Pray’. Coldplay managed to line up Lil Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna & Tini for this one, which was debuted at Coldplay’s mainstage Glasto show. It’s a decent track, but you can’t help but think Chris Martin needed Burna Boy and Lil Simz more than they needed him right now. Still, it will undoubtably help to open up the pair to Coldplay’s broad audience and you should give it a listen and make your own mind up.

Next up YouTuber and Presenter Yung Filly has been stepping up his music game with Grey earlier in the year and now Tempted is an easy listening afro-beats track that’s definitely worth spin. Queue the DJs creating word play reels with this and Tempted to Touch.

A swing heavy rolling beat provides a heavy 00s Timbo and Kelis production vibes as Irish rapper Rejjie Snow collabs with singer-songwriter Dana Williams to release Keep Up. Check out, Rejjie Snow live 7 November in Manchester for an unforgettable night of hip hop.

Finally, up and coming artist James Smith is one to watch and it’s easy to see why with his song We Move which feels like a modern Pharrell produced pop record.
