Finland, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden all regularly score top of the table on the World Happiness Index. These places all have things in common, whenever there is a room filled with steam it’s time to strip down and jump in.
Now, we’re not saying this is the reason they’re happy, but it might help. By that logic, Manchester is set to become a whole lot happier with the announcement of its first ever sauna and ice bath café.
Kontrast is set to open just a short walk from Victoria Station and will offer the ultimate wellness break. Designed as a community hub to bring people together through contrast therapy, which is the practice of alternating between hot and cold temperatures.
The new venue features three high-tech saunas and three ice baths with different temperatures to cater to your tolerance levels.
Kontrast has partnered with mental health charity MIND, where 50% of all booking donations in the first month will be donated to support mental health initiatives.
You can book into a 60-minute off-peak session for just a tenner, or a 90-minute peak sessions for £17. It’ll even be open late into the evening for those nighttime sweats and shivers.
After your relaxation sessions, Blossom Coffee is providing the specialty coffee as well as snacks, juices and teas whilst you ponder whether that was a good idea or not, or whilst you book onto your next session.
