Mackie Mayor is one of the most iconic places in the Northern Quarter, for six years it’s been stopping arguments over which cuisine everyone fancies by having it all under one roof.
From a huge selection of wine at Reserve Wines and craft beers at Blackjack to sourdough pizza from Honest Crust and arguably some of the city’s best ramen from New Wave, the Swan Street food hall is unmatched for offering high-quality food from independent operators. Now a new cocktail bar is set to join the roster of traders at the former meat market. Stray will be taking residency in the former Atkinson’s Coffee unit from this weekend.
The proposition is a simple one, uncomplicated and well-executed cocktails in a relaxed environment. The stars of the show will undoubtedly be the signature ‘Led Astray’ collection combining seasonal flavours with those less commonly explored. The collection includes a Tomato Margarita, Rhubarb & Pine Gimlet and Fig Leaf Pisco. If these don’t take your fancy, any classic cocktail is available with or without a Stray twist.
Across all drinks at Stray, it uses locally sourced ingredients as well as infusing all its spirits and creating cordials in-house. For those who don’t drink, the non-alcoholic cocktails are just as impressive and have as much care put into them as the boozy ones.
Manchester has stepped up its cocktail game in the last few years, Stray adds to the thriving cocktails scene with the likes of Schofield’s, Speak In Code, Red Light and The Daisy already in the city centre, and we’re here for it!
Stray will be opening from 3 November and is only accepting walk-ins. You can stay up to date with all their exciting plans in the future on their Instagram.
