It’s fair to say that Co-op Live Arena hasn’t got off to the best of starts, cancelling its opening Peter Kay’s shows because the building wasn’t quite finished.
Not one to lay on the canvas and take defeat, bookers at the new multi-million-pound venue have come back with a major new event announcement, confirming Co-op Live as the host venue for UFC 304.
It is just the fourth time that the UFC will have been held in the UK. Fighters haven’t been confirmed for the event yet, but it is rumoured that Salford local lad and defending champion Tom Aspinall will be one of the cards, and we may also see another British defending champion Leon Edwards fighting.
Dana White is buzzing to be back in Manchester this summer with him saying “I’m so excited to get back to Manchester. And no better time than this summer.”
“We have two champions from the UK and fans have been dying for a UFC PPV event. So here we come to the largest indoor arena in the UK. See you soon, England!”
The event will take place on July 27, if you fancy going to UFC 304, you can register for ticket alerts here.
